PARKVILLE, MISSOURI (Project Listing)
PARKVILLE OPENS NEW CITY HALL
After years of working in tight quarters, the Mayor, city officials and the Parkville Police department partnered with Tony Borchers of River North Development, Shaw Electric and LUKE DRAILY CONSTRUCTION for a solution. The final answer came a little over eight months later when LUKE DRAILY delivered to the city a new 23,900sf PARKVILLE CITY HALL.
“We really enjoyed great communication on this project with all of our partners” says LUKE DRAILYS owner Bob Becker, “Our progress meetings coupled with Mayor Kathy Dusenbery involvement were priceless to us achieving our common goal.”
The official date was a unique one, Saturday July 7, 2007 or 7-7-07. Opening festivities at 10am included ribbon cutting, tour of the facility, free hot dogs, soft drinks, ‘PARKVILLE MISSOURI’ coffee mugs, balloons, and t-shirts. Children activities included an appearance by the local fire department who were kind enough to bring out a couple of their rigs so the children can get an up close look or picture with those massive red vehicles.
“This is an exciting time for Parkville’s future and for LUKE DRAILY” Becker states with a smile, “You know, we have built most of buildings here at the Parkville Commons retail, we have built buildings all over the city, state, and country but there is something special about building a public one, that will only have one special tenant, the people of our own community.”
MESA, AZ (Project Listing)
DICKINSON THEATERS EAGER TO OPEN 1ST OF MANY IMAX VENUES
October can’t come too soon for John Hartley, President of Dickinson theaters. That is when LUKE DRAILY CONSTRUCTION will deliver to the national theater chain their first of many IMAX auditoriums.
“This is an entertainment experience on a grand scale” says Hartley “First of all, the IMAX projector, the film and movie screens are larger than almost all other theaters. The 70ft wide screen provides great sight lines and amazing clarity coupled with an enhanced state of the art sound system you become part of the action. Even the acoustics are different then other theaters.”
Dickinson’s 9 million dollar, 43,000sf “work of art” will be appropriately named “Masterpiece 12”.
LUKE DRAILY’S project manager Doug Davis has built several projects for Dickinson before but this is the first with an IMAX experience as the feature, and eleven other theater choices in the same spectacular package.
“This is very important to all of our project partners, this first one is ultimately a prototype that will benefit us on future IMAX projects around the country. We will take what we learned in Mesa, and turn around and begin to utilize it in September when we break ground in Little Rock.”
Davis is referring to Dickinson’s second IMAX location, which will be in Little Rock, Arkansas. “Timing is everything and this project that came together rapidly after a meeting between RED Development, LUKE DRAILY CONSTRUCTION and Dickinson theaters in January. I know that we have built a great comfort level with Dickinson, from the first theater we did with them, and that confidence in us, enabled them to make timely decisions with RED Development to get the deal done.”
“The Promenade at Chenal” is RED Development’s 330,000sf lifestyle development located in Little Rock’s most prestigious master-planned community. This center will provide the most unique shopping destination and the only IMAX theater in the state. The project is slated to open in May 2008.
